St. Adalgott, Bishop

St. Adalgott, pray for us!

St. Adalgott, pray for us!

Bishop and comforter of the poor. St. Adalgott was a monk in the Benedictine Monastery of Clairvaux, where St. Bernard trained his successors. He was appointed the abbot of the Benedictines in Dissentis, where he became known  for his care of the sick and poor. When Adalgott was named bishop of Chur, he conducted an apostolate for the suffering of the region, founding a hospital in 1150.

REFLECTION:

Do we give our best when God called us to His service? To be holy is not easy but not difficult either as what St. Josemaria Escriva said. If we are open to God’s grace then we can really see the works of the Lord manifesting in our lives marvelously and wonderfully.

PRAYER:

O God our Father, source of holiness and sanctity grant we beg You through the intercession of St. Adalgott the grace of ardent charity and profound humility that we may serve You authentically in our brethren through Christ our Lord. Amen.
